This Privacy Policy explains how personal data are processed when you visit www.phdaiethics.com (the “Site”), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable national law.

2. Data we process
2.1 Browsing data
The hosting provider’s servers automatically record technical data necessary to deliver the Site and keep it secure (IP address, date/time, requested page, browser user-agent, referrer). These logs are used only for security and troubleshooting and are deleted within [e.g. 30] days. Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hosting provider: [hosting provider name].
2.2 Forms (membership application and contact)
The membership and contact forms are provided through Google Forms (Google Ireland Ltd). They load only after you consent to “External media”. The data you enter (e.g. name, e-mail, institution, research topic) are used to assess your membership application or answer your message. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures / your request (art. 6(1)(b)) and consent (art. 6(1)(a)). Data are kept for the duration of membership and up to [e.g. 24] months after it ends, or until you ask us to delete them.
2.3 Embedded videos
YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and load only after consent. Google may process your IP address and set cookies/local storage when you play them.
2.4 Newsletter / updates
If you sign up for updates, your e-mail address is processed on the basis of your consent (art. 6(1)(a)) via [e.g. Mailchimp – Intuit Inc.]. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each e-mail.
3. Recipients and transfers outside the EU
Data may be processed by our service providers acting as processors (hosting, Google, e-mail provider). Some providers (e.g. Google LLC) are located in the United States; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
4. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal (arts. 15–22 GDPR).
